MOORE NANOTECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS – Named “2008 Company of the Year” by the State of New Hampshire Department of Economic development.
In December of 2009, Moore Nanotechnology Systems, LLC moved into their new 36,000 square foot facility located on Route 32 in Swanzey, NH. Ingram Construction Corporation is proud to have been selected as the Construction Manager for this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that epitomizes the concept of sustainable building design.
As always, ICC worked closely with the Architect and Owner to plan and implement the many tiered design. The result is a building with greatly reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions that delivers a “Beyond Code” level of performance. The building’s sleek clean design, comfortable well lit interior spaces, and thoughtful siting all brightly underline the commitment that the Owner/Design Team/Construction Manager made to delivering a project that can serve as an example of leadership toward a sustainable built environment.

Working closely with the Owner, Ingram Construction Corporation was able to improve several conditions at the Windham Building at the Ascutney Mountain Resort. The exterior brick paver patio was replaced with a beautiful stamped concrete one, the existing covered walkway was replaced with a combination frost wall/sidewalk structure, and the existing deck and stairway received extensive repairs. Most of the problems that ICC addressed were caused by very poor sub-surface drainage and all of these conditions were addressed as part of this contract.

This new facility for a marketing/graphic design/printing business placed a high degree of emphasis on energy efficiency in its design. The building’s envelope is comprised of a combination of dense pack cellulose and closed cell foam. The high performance HVAC system utilized heat pumps that temper the incoming fresh air with warm air recovered from the building, thereby reducing heating costs. The lighting and plumbing fixtures were carefully chosen based on their high performance and energy efficiency. The siding is comprised of fiber cement boards. Because of the building’s proximity to Minnewawa Brook the Owner opted to pave the parking lot with pervious concrete. The advantages of this strategy were twofold:
Storm water was allowed to perc directly through the concrete and into the gravelly soils that were native to the site, filtering the water naturally---the very essence of what “Green Building” is intended to do.
By eliminating subsurface piping, catch basin structures, storm water retention ponds, and so on ICC was able to greatly reduce the cost of the site work and the Owner could invest those savings in the building.
These and other measures were easily integrated into the building’s design due in part because to the “team” approach that developed between the Owner, Architect, and Ingram Construction.

This small shelter at a Park n’ Ride lot just off Exit 7 on Interstate 91 in Weathersfield, VT is proof that small things can have a large impact. Providing carpoolers with a safe, well lit shelter can help encourage these commuters to “buddy up”, thereby reducing the number of single passenger vehicles on our highways. This small timberframe structure with its copper roof is something Ingram Construction Corporation is pleased to have been associated with.
